Mauricio Pochettino says the squad is determined to ‘move on’ from last week’s loss at City with another huge game on the horizon at Burnley on Saturday (5.30pm).
Burnley are enjoying a fine season in the Premier League and currently sit a place ahead of us in sixth with just four defeats in 18.
The manager spoke to Spurs TV after training on Thursday. “It’s an important game for us, and for them,” he said. “For us, it’s about moving on and trying to win. We are ready.”
Here’s what Mauricio had to say…
On the week’s training at Hotspur Way…
“Players are disappointed because of the defeat against City but after you have time to train and to talk you change that energy and try to move on. The team is ready to compete, ready to go to Burnley and try to win again. It’s been a good week to work and refresh some concepts and again, to be all together, to try to assess, to analyse and try to improve.”

On Burnley…
“Burnley are having a fantastic season, a great job. They are in a very good position in the table and it will be tough. It’s always tough at Burnley. They believe, they have very good energy, they are a very tough team and for us, after the defeat at City, it’s a good place to go and try to win, to be at our best and try to change that feeling.”
Latest on Toby Alderweireld and Victor Wanyama’s progress from injury…
“They are doing well. Victor has started to share some training sessions with the group this week. We hope he’ll be available as soon as possible. It’s been tough for him but that’s football and it happens. They need to be strong.”
