Following the submission of the Club's planning application to Haringey Council last week, Haringey's two local Members of Parliament have given their strong backing to the new plans.

David Lammy, the MP for Tottenham said:

"The Club's response has been fantastic and they should be applauded for having gone the extra mile and producing a scheme that can appeal to the widest possible audience.

"I think they have achieved an excellent approach to the High Road and I especially welcome the commitment to an even larger public square.

"The Northumberland Development Project has the potential to provide a huge boost for North Tottenham and would be a great asset for the area."

Meanwhile, Lynne Featherstone, MP for Hornsey and Wood Green and the new Minister for Equalities said:

"I welcome these new plans which protect more of the history of the Club and the area whilst also creating brilliant community facilities.

"The long term retention of the Club in Haringey can only be good news for the Borough and the impact of the work of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, which is so central to this application, cannot be underestimated."

As the new planning application process moves ahead, it is important to be able to provide a strong demonstration of support for the scheme.

The former application has been withdrawn, therefore, if you signed the petition for the former application it will not apply.
