Milos Veljkovic made his debut for Middlesbrough during a weekend of mixed fortunes for our loanees.
The Serbian Under-21 international defender went on as a substitute on 63 minutes as Boro romped to a 5-1 win at Millwall in the Championship and very nearly set up a sixth goal for the visitors in the closing stages.
His fine through ball found Emilio Nsue – who had started in place Milos’ on-loan Spurs colleague Ryan Fredericks, who was absent through injury – but the right-back shot over the bar.
Also making his debut for his loan club at the weekend was Tomislav Gomelt. He stepped off the bench for Italian side Bari eight minutes into the second half but was unable to prevent the home side from slipping to a 1-0 defeat to Carpi in Serie B.
Elsewhere on the continent, Lewis Holtby played 90 minutes for Hamburg as they picked up a 2-1 win over Mainz 05 in the German Bundesliga.
Back in the Championship, Alex Pritchard was in the Brentford side that suffered a 2-1 defeat at Huddersfield, while in the Premier League, Tom Carroll was an unused substitute for Swansea City as they lost 3-1 at West Ham. Tom did see a few minutes’ game time in midweek, however, as he went on as a late substitute in the Swans’ 2-0 home win over Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday.
