Loan watch - Jon helps Addicks secure safety

Jon Obika was a second half substitute for Charlton Athletic as they secured their Championship survival with a 3-1 home win against Watford on Tuesday night.

Striker Jon stepped off the bench mid-way through the second half with the scores at 1-1, helping his side go on to claim all three points and guarantee a finish outside the drop-zone.

WEEKEND ACTION...

Shaq Coulthirst was on target for Torquay United on another busy weekend for our loanees.

The front man headed home the Gulls’ third goal as they won 3-1 at Mansfield Town, but the win wasn’t enough to prevent Torquay’s relegation from League Two. Shaq was substituted with seven minutes remaining.

Lewis Holtby and Jake Livermore played against each other for their respective loan sides, Lewis playing 45 minutes for Fulham and Jake the full match for Hull City as the two clubs drew 2-2 in the Premier League at Craven Cottage.

In the Championship, Tom Carroll played 90 minutes for Queens Park Rangers in their 1-1 home draw with Millwall while Jon Obika was an unused substitute for Charlton Athletic in their 3-1 home reverse against Blackburn Rovers.

Swindon Town, with Alex Pritchard in their side, lost 2-0 at Notts County in League One. Alex played 90 minutes for the Robins, who finished with nine men.

In Spain, Yago Falque helped Rayo Vallecano claim a 3-0 win at Granada – the 24-year-old playing the full game in La Liga.
