Alex Pritchard helped Brentford exact revenge on Brighton & Hove Albion for their recent FA Cup defeat by claiming a 1-0 victory in the Championship on Saturday.

Our on-loan midfielder, who wasn’t involved in the Bees’ cup reverse earlier this month, started for the visitors this time around and went close to adding to his side’s lead in the second half, but was denied by goalkeeper David Stockdale. He was withdrawn a minute from time.

Elsewhere in the Championship, defender Grant Hall made his first start for Blackpool in their trip to Wolves. He was substituted after 72 minutes with the score still goalless, but Wolves netted twice in the final four minutes to inflict a 2-0 defeat on the visitors.

It was a tough weekend for midfielder Tom Carroll, who played 90 minutes for Swansea City as they crashed to a 5-0 home defeat to Chelsea, while forward Shaq Coulthirst was an unused substitute for Southend United in their 3-2 League Two victory at Oxford United.

In Italy, Tomislav Gomelt was on the bench for FC Bari as they resumed their Serie B campaign with a goalless draw at home to Virtus Entella.

Meanwhile, Milos Veljkovic last week returned to the Club following the conclusion of his loan spell at Middlesbrough. He made four appearances for the Riverside club.
