Loan special - Hall's wish granted

Grant Hall is relishing his time on loan at Swindon - and is now looking for the perfect finale to the season.

The central defender who captained our Under-21 team to the final of the Barclays U21 Premier League last season has made 33 appearances in all competitions for the Robins, including 24 in League One.

On loan at the County Ground with Spurs team-mates Ryan Mason and Alex Pritchard, Grant was back at the Training Centre last week as he recovers from calf injury.

"This season has been great, just what I needed," said Grant, who played 19 times for our Under-21s last term.

"I’m playing regularly, I’m up to 33 matches this season already, more than I’ve ever played before, it’s always been Under-21s before that. It’s a massive difference and the experience is good for me.

"Playing all these games will help me develop as a player. Every point is vital to the club, week in, week out and that pressure is there every week as well.

"I feel I’m improving with every game and playing with experienced players helps as well."

Unfortunately, his dreams of a Wembley appearance were dashed by the Robins' penalty shoot-out defeat to Peterborough United in the Southern Area of the JP Trophy, but Grant insists the focus is now promotion.

Swindon are currently four points off the play-off places and have work to do.

"There are a lot of good teams in this league, the likes of Wolves, Brentford and Preston," he added.

"We have to stick around and if we’re there or thereabouts at the end of the season, we’ll have a chance."
