Our Under-18s have been drawn at home to Liverpool in the quarter-finals of the inaugural Under-18 Premier League Cup.
Scott Parker’s side qualified for the last eight as one of the two best second-placed teams in the six groups, having beaten Leicester City 2-1 and Aston Villa 4-1 to finish with six points from a possible nine in Group E. Fulham, who beat us 2-1, won the group.
Liverpool, who are managed by legendary former midfielder Steven Gerrard, topped Group D with maximum points following matches against Sunderland, Middlesbrough and West Ham.
A date for the last eight fixture will be confirmed in due course.
Meanwhile, our Under-23s’ Premier League 2 fixture away to Leicester City has been brought forward to Wednesday 3 January, kick-off 7pm at Holmes Park.
