Late goal regret for Mousa

Mousa Dembele highlighted the first few minutes – and the last few – as key moments in Wednesday’s win over Swansea City.

We made a fast start on our return to Premier League action at the Lane, Nacer Chadli converting Danny Rose’s left-wing cross to give us a sixth-minute lead.

Ki Sung-Yeung then equalised for the Swans but, by the time the game entered its closing moments, we were 3-1 up thanks to goals from Ryan Mason and Andros Townsend.

Two minutes from time, however, former Spur Gylfi Sigurdsson hit the target to set up a tense finish, with Mousa confirming the players regretted allowing the visitors back into the contest – the match ultimately ending 3-2 in our favour.

“We played well, it’s just a shame that we had to concede a second goal,” said the midfielder, who went on as a substitute for Andros in the 65th minute.

“We know we can’t let in a goal like that to have a nervy few minutes at the end but, aside from that, we’re quite happy with the game.

“I’m happy for Nacer to get his goal as well. It’s a normal thing for us to try to have a good start and we try that every game. The team played well in general.”
