Andros Townsend and Kyle Walker have been named in the England squad for Wednesday’s friendly against Denmark – while three of our other lads have been called up to the England Under-21 squad for their European Championship qualifier against Wales.
Andros exploded onto the international stage last October, scoring on his senior England debut against Montenegro and playing a vital role in the decisive win against Poland that secured the Three Lions’ presence at this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.
He also played in friendlies against Chile and Germany at Wembley in November.
Full-back Kyle, meanwhile, has 10 caps for England to date.
The duo are joined in the Three Lions’ 30-man squad by striker Jermain Defoe, who this week leaves the club to join MLS outfit Toronto FC.
England host Denmark – whose squad includes Christian Eriksen – at Wembley Stadium on Wednesday, kick-off 8pm.
Meanwhile, Zeki Fryers is in the England Under-21 squad for Wednesday’s European Championship qualifier against Wales at Derby County FC.
Full-back Zeki, who has made nine first team appearances for us this season, is joined by striker Harry Kane and midfielder Tom Carroll – currently on loan at Queens Park Rangers – in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the game, which kicks-off at 6pm.
A handful of our young players are also on England duty next week. Will Miller, Nathan Oduwa, Emmanuel Sonupe and Harry Winks are all in the squad for consecutive Under-18 level friendlies against Croatia on Monday and Wednesday, while Josh Onomah has received a call-up for the Under-17 level friendly against Germany this Sunday.
