Spurs Ladies picked up their first ever win at Women’s Premier League South level in some fashion with a 4-0 victory at QPR on Sunday.

Spurs Ladies picked up their first ever win at Women’s Premier League South level in some fashion with a 4-0 victory at QPR on Sunday.

After last weekend's defeat by the same scoreline at home to Portsmouth, Karen Hills' side bounced back largely thanks to a Bianca Baptiste hat-trick.

The girls started brightly, keeping the ball for long periods of time and working hard to win it back when out of possession.

Wendy Martin was making her league debut for Spurs and made an instant impact, opening the scoring after latching onto an excellent Jess Chessman pass.

The second half saw Spurs continue to press all over the pitch before Baptiste (pictured) went through on goal to score her first of the afternoon on 50 minutes.

She was not finished there and soon reacted quickest to a mix up between the QPR goalkeeper and centre half to double her tally and make it 3-0.

Our defence was rarely under any pressure and the game was wrapped up on 83 minutes when Baptiste latched onto Emma Kayser’s throughball for her hat-trick.

Manager Karen said: “What a difference a week makes in football! Last week we were shown that mistakes and a lack of concentration will cost us games - this week we responded with an excellent team performance.

“I was very pleased with the way we took the game to QPR and went at them from the first whistle. The girls not only performed but they gelled as a team and the football that was being played was a pleasure to watch.

“After last week’s performance the girls have all taken on board what was said. There were no mistakes and concentration levels were there for the whole game.

“Our next game is at home to Gillingham at Harlow Town FC, ko 2pm, and we would welcome any Spurs fans to get behind their women’s team.”

Team v QPR: Jo Ayre, Ebony Heath, Robyn Downie, Sam Pittuck, Miranda Hall, Emma Kayser, Jess Chessman, Nicola Cable, Wendy Martin (Kirsten Thompson, 65) Jenna Schillaci (Rosie Webb, 70) Bianca Baptiste
