Kyle Walker has praised his long-time friend and namesake Kyle Naughton for his performances in the closing months of the season.
The latter Kyle replaced the injured Walker in the side in March, stamping his mark on the right-back berth in the ensuing period having previously been utilised on the left.
The pair go way back – they both came up through the ranks at Sheffield United before making the move to White Hart Lane in 2009.
And having followed Naughton’s fortunes closely during his time on the sidelines, Walker has been impressed with the confident showings put on by his pal.
“Of everyone here, I know better than most what Kyle can do,” said Walker. “He doesn’t panic on the ball, he’s very talented.
“I always say the biggest thing about football is confidence and if you can play with confidence, you can do anything.
“We speak a lot and I’m happy he’s done well.
“I want to play all the time but at the same time, I’m pleased for Kyle that he’s got a good run in the team to show what he can do.”
