Harry Redknapp was delighted with Jermain Defoe's display in Saturday's 3-1 win at West Brom.

The striker came in for injured Rafa van der Vaart and responded with a trademark goal from 20 yards at The Hawthorns.

It was the key moment to put us 2-1 up with nine minutes remaining.

Emmanuel Adebayor slotted home his second goal of the game in injury time to secure our ninth win in the last 10 matches in the Premier League.

"Jermain looks sharp and he's been unlucky, Rafa has been playing so well," said Harry.

"We had a reserve game on Tuesday, he scored five goals against Charlton and I knew he was ready.

"He's been desperate for a chance and he took it. I thought some of his play in the second half was fantastic. There was a passing move with Adebayor in the second half that would have been an incredible goal."
