Jan's praise for Nacer

Jan Vertonghen is delighted to see Nacer Chadli in good form for Club and country.

The two Belgians combined for their nation’s third goal of an eventual 6-0 victory over Andorra in Friday’s Euro 2016 qualifier, Jan’s well-delivered cross being swept home by his compatriot from inside the area eight minutes before half-time.

The strike added to Nacer’s four Premier League goals for us since the start of the season – with defender Jan delighted to see the attacking midfielder frequently making an impact after an injury-hit first season in our colours.

“It’s great that he’s growing,” Jan said of Nacer. “He’s a very good player and it’s a shame he couldn’t show what he is capable of last year but now we’re seeing the real Nacer.

“We already knew from his performances for Belgium what he was able to do so I’m pleased for him and the Club.”
