'It's a pleasure to be part of this team'

Kyle Walker doesn't hesitate when asked if the Spurs class of 2016 had the biggest potential of the squads he's been involved with going back when he joined us in 2009.

"Yes, without a shadow of a doubt," said the full-back who has more Spurs appearances (174) now than any player in the current squad.

"It’s a young and exciting team, and it’s a pleasure to play with them and train day in, day out. The training is just as good as the games!

"I’ve played with some good players but this team is an exciting team and as I said, a pleasure to be a part of."

In flying form this season after overcoming last season's injury concerns, Kyle, who has started 19 of our 20 matches in the Premier League, said the team spirit is also as good as he's known.

"We’ve always had a good bunch of lads at Spurs from when I first came here to now," said the England international. "We’re always very welcoming and the banter is always flying!

"We’re gelling as a team and there’s no-one saying that they’re bigger than anyone else and I think that’s vital.

"Obviously the likes of Hugo, who is the French captain, is a big presence in the dressing room and he speaks to everyone with respect, he doesn’t talk down to anyone. If players do overstep the mark then they get told but everyone knows where they stand and that’s key in this team."
