Ben Davies felt immediately at home at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
The full-back was introduced to our supporters with Head Coach Mauricio Pochettino and fellow new signings Eric Dier and Michel Vorm ahead of kick-off against Schalke.
He then stepped out for the first time at the start of the second half as we secured a 2-1 win against the Bundesliga side.
“It was great to get out on the pitch for the first time and we were really appreciative of the reception,” said the Welsh international.
“It was a real honour to play in front of the home crowd and I’m glad we got the win.
“I think we deserved to win and it could have been more. We created lots of chances, won the game and we know there is more to come.”
The win completed an unbeaten pre-season with four friendly wins and a draw out of five against Seattle Sounders (3-3), Toronto FC (3-2), Chicago (2-0), Celtic (6-1) and Schalke.
The lads are confident for the big one - our Premier League opener against West Ham at Upton Park on Saturday (3pm).
“We’re looking forward to it,” added Ben. “We’re on a high after pre-season and hopefully we can go there and get off to a positive start.”
