Hillier's a Hatter

Wed 07 November 2001, 12:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Reserve team captain Ian Hillier has completed a permanent switch to Luton Town after a successful loan spell at Kenilworth Road.

The Wales under-21 international defender, who joined Spurs as a trainee, has featured in the Luton side that has disputed top spot in Division Three under the management of Lane legend Joe Kinnear.

Director of football Daviud Pleat said: "We obviously wish Ian well, he went on loan to Luton and picked up an injury, but did enough in the two months to show them that he can be part of a progressive future for the club.

"They know the importance of having good young players. At 21, with the pedigree of Tottenham, Ian should do well.

"He is a good crosser of the ball, he has speed and heads quite well. He needs senior games to give him mental toughness and to give him a challenge and competition each week at a higher level than reserve team football."
