Goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes doesn't have to think for too long when asked about the craziest player he's ever known.
Goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes doesn't have to think for too long when asked about the craziest player he's ever known.
That has to be his fellow Brazilian international Felipe Melo who now plays for Juventus but appeared alongside Gomes at our keeper's first club Cruzeiro.
So what was ‘crazy' about him? "Everything!" laughs Gomes. "He was mad back then."
Gomes answers our questions in the current issue of hotspur magazine. And he gives a typically laid-back and philosophical response to many of our queries into his life and thoughts.
He admits, for example, that he lives and breathes football. But when he has time to himself he's happiest spending it with his two sons, Flavio and Luiz.
"When I'm not playing I don't know what to do," he admits. "Its my life. I do something I love every day and football is like a family to me."
However, he always finds that playing with the kids is the best form of relaxation he knows. "How can you beat that," he asks?
Gomes describes Rene Higuita's 'scorpion' save as his favourite, says that Wilson Palacios is his ‘best mate' at the Lane and tells readers why he loves Spurs.
"It's the ambition of the club. This is a big club with big players and big fans. We need to be in the top four all the time and this group can do it."
All this and more in the mag you adore! Don't miss the November issue of hotspur, our official monthly magazine. It's a must for all Spurs fans.
