Harry Kane was thrilled to see his long-time pal Ryan Mason get on the scoresheet in some style during this week’s Capital One Cup win over Nottingham Forest.
The duo entered the fray shortly after we’d fallen behind to Jorge Grant’s opener in the third round tie at White Hart Lane.
And it didn’t take long for Ryan to make a sensational impact, his 25-yard rasper nestling into the top corner to put us back on level terms.
Roberto Soldado then fired us into the lead, before Harry rounded off a 3-1 win in stoppage time with a cool finish into the bottom corner of the net.
Having emerged through our youth ranks alongside Ryan, striker Harry was quick to sing his pal’s praises after what was only the midfielder’s fifth senior appearance in our colours.
“I’m absolutely buzzing for him, I’m really over the moon,” Harry declared. “He’s worked hard, he deserves his big moment – and what a goal it was!
“It was brilliant for him to get the goal and great for us to come away with the win in the end.”
On his goal, Harry added: “It was a great ball from Erik Lamela. As a striker you want to be putting the ball in the net in that situation and fortunately for me it was a good finish.
“It was great to get the win and see us through to the next round.”
