Football Development a hit in USA

Thu 17 May 2012, 08:53|Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur Football Development coaches recently returned from the US where they delivered the first International Player Development Programme in association with the Soccer Association of Columbia, Maryland.

The camp also incorporated a ‘Coach the Coaches’ programme which gave our team the opportunity to share knowledge on the Tottenham Hotspur Philosophy and engage with the local coaches.

The feedback on the camp was extremely positive from both parents and staff.

Jim Carlan, COO Soccer Association of Columbia, said: "The Tottenham training team gave a 100 per cent effort during its time with the Soccer Association of Columbia and conducted two coaches’ clinics, several team training exercises, and the Spring break camp.

"The coaches’ clinics went extremely well and all participants were very impressed with the content, presentation, and professionalism of the training provided. Every one of our coaches who participated in the training stated that they look forward to the next visit of the training team.

"In addition to the coach and team training, the Spring Break camp was also a huge success.

"All of the players and parents were very impressed with the intensity level, work rate, and content of the training provided. The camp was fast paced, and all participants were impressed and enthusiastic with both the intensity level and content of the training provided.

"The Tottenham training team was personable, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about their work. During their visit to SAC, the Training team was a welcome addition to our soccer program. They will always be warmly welcomed as friends by our Club."

A parent commented: "I wanted to thank you, for an exciting camp experience. Ethan can't talk about camp without a huge smile on his face. He learned so much and had a great time in the process. We're very much looking forward to seeing Tottenham play in July and Ethan can't wait to return to camp in August."

Another parent added: "I wanted to say that your camp was a great experience for Phillip. The philosophy is different from what he’s being taught by his coach and what he’s been taught at other camps. His play has improved and the philosophy should help him not just today, but also in the future."
