First up Aston Villa!

Thu 21 June 2001, 12:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Aston Villa are our first obstacle as we kick off the new campaign at White Hart Lane on Saturday August 18.

Villa will travel south, aiming to improve on last season's goalless draw, with new signing Hassan Kachloul on board and possibly current target Mustafa Hadji. Whether David Ginola arrives as a Villa player remains to be seen.

Following the home opener, the team hits the road with a north west double-header - away to Everton on Wednesday August 22 and a trip to newly-promoted Blackburn on Saturday August 25.

After the busy beginning, there is an international break for the vital Germany-England and Republic of Ireland-Holland World Cup qualifiers before Glenn faces his former club Southampton on Saturday September 8. The Worthington Cup swings into action on Wednesday September 12.

Gus Poyet will then encounter his old Chelsea comrades three days later at the Lane, while Teddy will welcome Manchester United on Saturday September 29. In-between those dates are trips to Sunderland and Liverpool.

Our first meeting with Arsenal falls on Saturday November 17 at home, while the return is on Saturday April 6.

It should be stressed that these fixtures are provisional and subject to alteration.
