Federico Fazio assessed the task in front of us in Italy tonight and confirmed: ‘It can be done!’
The experienced defender was part of the Sevilla side that secured a 2-0 away win at Real Betis in the second leg of their Europa League Round of 16 tie last term.
And now he’s bidding to repeat the trick with us as we face Fiorentina away from home in the second part of our Round of 32 clash.
Unlike Federico’s Sevilla side in their meeting with Betis, we emerged from the first leg on level terms – the tie currently poised at 1-1.
And although the Serie A outfit has an away goal advantage, the Argentina international centre-half reckons a continuation of our good away form this season can help to see us through.
“Last season with Sevilla we lost the home leg against Betis and then we won away so I know it’s important to keeping working, regardless of the first-leg score,” he said.
“I think we are a very strong team away from home. We’ve demonstrated in the league that we’re a strong side on the road, but we will need to start well in Florence like we did last week.
“We need to really be focused on our objective of winning – I’m positive that we can get the result we need.”
