Fans follow in footsteps of Ultimate 11 with Thomas Cook Sport

Fans dream of playing on the hallowed turf where the likes of Mabbutt, Klinsmann and Bale have dribbled, tackled and scored for Spurs. And some of our fans' dreams came true recently.

Our official travel partner, Thomas Cook Sport, launched a fan survey in a bid to find the Ultimate Spurs starting line-up of all time.

Following hundreds of entries from across the country, fans voted for their favourite players in a bid to walk on the hallowed turf at White Hart Lane, wearing their legends names on the back of their Spurs shirt.

The following legends made the team:

Pat Jennings; Steve Perryman, Gary Mabbutt, Ledley King, Chris Hughton; Glenn Hoddle, Paul Gascoigne, David Ginola, Gareth Bale, Jimmy Greaves, Jurgen Klinsmann. Subs: Gary Lineker, Ossie Ardiles, Danny Blanchflower, Dave Mackay, Teddy Sheringham.

Sixteen lucky fans were invited to play at the Lane in April against an away team made up of journalists and special guests.

The fans didn’t disappoint, proudly wore their legends names and enjoyed a 3-2 win.
