Fans flock to Open Training

Mon 05 May 2014, 13:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Monday’s Open Training event at White Hart Lane was enjoyed by players and fans alike.

Our supporters turned out in their numbers to see the squad being put through their paces in a range of different activities, while a number of side attractions made it a day to remember in the glorious North London sunshine.

Club Ambassador Ledley King joined in with training on the pitch as he continues his preparations for his Testimonial on May 12.

Afterwards, Club skipper Michael Dawson thanked our fans for coming along and creating a fantastic atmosphere inside the stadium.

“It’s great for our fans to come and see us training,” said Daws, who joined Sandro as a team captain for a special ‘England vs Brazil’ penalty shootout with youngsters on the pitch after training.

“For the lads who played on Saturday it’s a light training session, but for us as players it’s the least we can do to turn out and show our support to the fans and everyone who has turned up. It’s a big thank you to them. I’m sure they’ve enjoyed it and hopefully we’ll see them down at the Lane again on Sunday for the Aston Villa game and for Ledley’s Testimonial on Monday night.”

One of the highlights of the session was a shooting drill, with Etienne Capoue in particular rallying some great support from the crowd before taking his shot!

A six-a-side game was also held, with plenty of action for the fans to enjoy.

“We’ve got some real characters out there, Etienne in particular showing his love for the fans during the shooting session, so it’s been a fun and light-hearted day after a disappointing Saturday at West Ham,” added Daws.
