Dnipro vs Spurs - Tim's preview

Thu 20 February 2014, 12:15|Tottenham Hotspur

Tim Sherwood knows we'll have to be at our best to bring home a positive result from our Europa League Round of 32, first leg against FC Dnipro in Ukraine tonight.

The Dnipro squad has a number of Ukraine internationals who helped take their country to the brink of the World Cup Finals – they lost 3-2 on aggregate to France in the play-off.

Dnipro sit fourth in the Ukraine Premier League with just two defeats all season as they prepare to return to action following a winter break.

Indeed, their last competitive match was in the Europa League back on December 12.

We go into the game having won seven and lost just one of our last 10 matches in the Premier League and with a record of eight wins out of eight in the Europa League so far.

“We progressed through the group stages and the competition gets harder now,” said Tim.

“This will be a tough game. We’re fully aware that they have internationals in their side who perform well for the Ukraine national team.

“We will have to be on our game to get a positive result but we’re coming here to do a job.

“We’ll try to win the game, absolutely. We realise they have threats and we’ll have to keep an eye on them, but we’ll concentrate on our game and see if we can push our attacking players onto their back four.

“We know we get two bites at it but we need to make sure we’re fully in the tie for when we get back to White Hart Lane."

We kick-off at the Dnipro Arena at 6pm UK time, 8pm local time.
