Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
"I have been a Spurs fan since I was a child and though I am too young to have had the privilege of watching one of Bill Nicholson’s Tottenham teams, I was brought up with the deepest respect and affection for Bill, for his achievements as a manager and for all he did for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
I have been a season ticket holder at Spurs for many years and, before Bill’s health began to fade, I enjoyed seeing him at White Hart Lane for every match. It took Bill less than three seasons to win the League and Cup Double in 1961, and in 1963 he added the European Cup Winners Cup, becoming the first British manager to win a European trophy. In his time at Tottenham, Bill also won the FA Cup and League Cup twice, and the Uefa Cup in 1972.
Bill was the greatest manager Spurs have ever had, not only winning trophies but doing it in dazzling style. My deepest sympathy goes out to his wife and daughters. He will never be forgotten."
