Adam Smith presented Certificates of Recognition to volunteers at the HAVCO Celebrating Volunteering in Haringey ceremony this week.

The event took place at the Haringey Irish Culture & Community Centre on Pretoria Road, Tottenham, to recognise the achievements of hundreds working in the borough's voluntary sector.

Smith, 17, is a member of our blossoming Under-18 side and his performance have been rewarded with involvement in the First Team squad during the current season.

He said: "It was a pleasure for me to meet the recipients of these certificates for all their hard work in the community. The Club has a very active role to play in Haringey and me being present at this ceremony to recognise the achievements of local people is just part of that."

HAVCO (Haringey's Association of Voluntary and Community Organisation) have been working to improve sports and community volunteering throughout Haringey.

Volunteers from the following organisations were recognised on the day:

African Care Services; African Caribbean Leadership Council; Back To Earth Projects; Casa de la Salud Hispano Americana; Haringey Citizens Advice Bureau; Haringey Irish Pensioners Group; HAVCO & Haringey Volunteer Centre; Home-Start Haringey; Haringey Community & Police Consultative Group; Innovative Vision Organisation; Kith & Kids; Off Road Academy; Older & Bolder Forum; Pyramid Health & Social Care (PHASCA); Polar Bear Community; Polish & East European Christian Centre; Retirement Care Foundation; Sixty Plus in Haringey; Retirement Care Foundation; The Selby Trust; Victim Support Haringey; Woodside Day Centre.
