Christian's character reference

Christian Eriksen spoke about character and mentality after our come-from-behind win against Everton on Sunday.

The Danish playmaker was one of a number of players who emphasised the importance of a victory at the Lane going into the match against an Everton team unbeaten in eight in all competitions.

And Christian helped us deliver with the equaliser - his fifth goal in the Premier League already this term - as we hit back from Kevin Mirallas’ early strike.

The turn around was completed by Roberto Soldado in first half injury time and we carried the greater threat at 2-1 after the break with Hugo Lloris rarely troubled.

“We had to bounce back when we went 1-0 down and we showed character and played well,” said Christian.

“They started well and scored a nice goal but again, we showed that we have a good mentality to come back from 1-0 down.

“We needed a win like that. The last home games haven’t been good and all the players are happy to show the fans that we can play football here.

“Now we have to keep it going because we have another big game at Chelsea on Wednesday.”
