Christian seeks Canaries repeat

Fri 21 February 2014, 17:30|Tottenham Hotspur

Christian Eriksen has fond memories of his first encounter against Norwich City.

The Canaries provided the opposition for Christian’s Spurs debut at White Hart Lane on September 14.

The Danish playmaker made an instant impression with his skill and creativity on ball and ability to find space in attacking areas.

He was also involved in both of our goals as Gylfi Sigurdsson struck twice to secure a 2-0 victory.

Now we face Chris Hughton’s men again at Carrow Road on Sunday, looking to build on our fantastic away form and 4-0 win at Newcastle last time out in the Premier League.

“I remember my first game well, it was important to make my debut and make a good start,” said Christian, who predicted a tough test against a Canaries side that held City to a goalless draw in their last home match.

“A lot of teams sit back against us and wait for the counter-attack,” said Christian. “We have to try to open them up and take our chances.

“We know in the Premier League we’ve scored goals recently, we’re also good away from home so hopefully we’ll continue that on Sunday.

“The lads are confident after Newcastle and we have to show it again on Sunday. It’s important to bounce back from Dnipro and if we want to finish in the top four, we have to try to win this game.”
