Christian and Dele's Club awards double

Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli have cleaned up in the One Hotspur Members and Supporters Clubs' awards for 2016-17.

Danish playmaker Christian has been voted Player of the Season by both One Hotspur Members and our Supporters Clubs. It's the second time he has completed the Club awards 'double' after his first season in 2013-14.

Meanwhile, Dele has been named One Hotspur Junior Members Player of the Season and for the second-successive season, has won the Supporters Clubs Goal of the Season, this time for his cracker against Watford at the Lane on April 8 - one of 21 goals he's scored this season. He won the same award last term for his wonder goal at Palace.

On taking the senior POTS awards, Christian's first reaction was one of surprise! "There have been a few players - in fact most of the team - who have had an incredible season and the man standing next to me (Dele) has had a very good season as well, but I’m very pleased the fans have voted for me and it means a lot," he said.

Christian was also well aware of the support our great Club has around the world. He said: "We see the supporters following the games on Instagram, we see the pictures that we get tagged in or that they post on the internet and I think it’s incredible they are watching games at l2am because not everyone would do that.

"We’re very happy to have the opportunity to play for that many people who like and enjoy what they see and hopefully we’ll make them enjoy it even more over the next seasons."

Dele added: "I think that’s one thing we have got here, the support is unbelievable, the fans at the games as well as the ones who can’t make it and are supporting us all around the world.

"They all deserve a lot of credit for the way they help push the team throughout season and hopefully that will carry on. You can see the way the club is moving with the new stadium and we’ll have a lot more fans in there and hopefully an even better atmosphere."

Our Supporters Club got together for their annual awards presentation at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
