Mauricio Pochettino congratulated the players after wrapping up our North American Tour with a 2-0 win against Chicago Fire on Saturday.
Lewis Holtby handed Harry Kane the easiest of tap-ins for the opening goal on five minutes and with five minutes remaining, Aaron Lennon finished superbly from Roberto Soldado’s pass to secure victory.
It completed an unbeaten Tour after a trio of testing friendlies against MLS sides Seattle, Toronto and now Fire.
“I’m very pleased for the players because we’ve finished with a good win, a clean sheet and that’s a boost for the confidence,” said Mauricio at Toyota Park.
“It was difficult in the humidity but well done to the players, it was a good game out there. I’m happy for all of them. I thought we played well.
“We’ve worked hard on this Tour and congratulations to the players, staff and the supporters, they’ve been fantastic.”
