Chadli's challenge

Sat 13 December 2014, 18:45|Tottenham Hotspur

Nacer Chadli is keen to rediscover his early season form when we travel to Swansea on Sunday.

The Belgian international scored six Premier League goals in his first 10 appearances but missed three weeks with a knee injury before returning to the fold as a substitute against Chelsea and Crystal Palace at the beginning of this month.

Having completed his first 90 minutes since early November in Thursday night’s defeat at Besiktas, the 25-year-old now has Swansea firmly in his sights.

“I’m confident, Swansea are a good side and difficult to beat at home but we are a good team as well and we have to impose our game on them,” he said.

“We have to play well and if we do that we can come away with a win. We have to be fully focused, try to press them and keep the ball as much as we can.”

Despite his impressive start to the campaign, Nacer’s focus remains on team’s success over personal achievements. “I will just play my game,” he added. “If I play well and the team wins then I’m happy and of course it’s nice to score goals but as long as the team wins that is more important.”

Thursday’s Europa League defeat was our third in four matches but Nacer is keen to put that behind us and pick up a positive result in Wales. “It was disappointing for everybody but we have to move on,” he explained. “We have qualified for the last 32 of the Europa League but now we move on to Swansea.

“I feel good, I feel fit. The game against Besiktas wasn’t my best game, I want to contribute more than that but now that I’m back from injury my form will come with games.”
