The German Under-21 international made his debut for our Spurs XI team at Grays on Tuesday night following his move to the Barclays Premier League from Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin.
Still only 20, the midfielder has already played 42 times in Germany’s top flight, scoring four goals and featured a number of times in the UEFA Cup.
His performances in the 2005-06 season earned him the Fritz Walter Gold Medal Award after being voted Best Young Player in Germany in July, 2006.
“It’s very important that I’ve played in European and international football because the Premier League is harder, it’s faster and for me, it’s the best league in the world,” said Kevin at Spurs Lodge. “If I can play well here and I can play anywhere.
“When I look at the game from the Bundesliga and a game from the Premier League it’s not the same. For me, the Bundesliga was great but now I need to fight again, to play against the best players in the world.
“Maybe I’m well-known in Germany but not many people will know me in England and that’s something I now want to change with Spurs. It’s a great team, a young team and I think I will fit in well here.”
