Tottenham HotspurWood Green student Samantha Cove helped bury a Spurs shirt amongst other items of Haringey history for future generations when a time capsule, containing a shirt signed by the senior squad was buried at Haringey's new sixth form centre in Tottenham last week.
Wood Green student Samantha Cove helped bury a Spurs shirt amongst other items of Haringey history for future generations when a time capsule, containing a shirt signed by the senior squad was buried at Haringey's new sixth form centre in Tottenham last week.A competition was launched among pupils and students at Haringey schools for the best suggestions for what should be put in the capsule. Samantha suggested photographs of her own school.
Samantha, a student at Northumberland Park Vale School, said: "I suggested pictures of my school because I thought it would be the best way to show people in the future what it was like now."
With the home shirt were items of school uniforms, newspapers, games, CDs, a set of coins and some books.
The centre is costing £28m to build, will cater for 1,200 students and be open in September.
Cllr Liz Santry, executive member for children and young people, said: "Our new sixth form centre is all about offering a better future for students in Haringey. The time capsule is a great way of helping show future generations what life was like in the borough in 2007."
