Big game feeling for Benji

Benji Stambouli believes Wednesday’s comeback victory against Nottingham Forest has given the squad a boost ahead of Saturday’s huge derby clash with Arsenal.

We travel to the Emirates in search of our first Premier League win in four games, but with renewed confidence after seeing off the Championship leaders in the Capital One Cup.

Goals from Ryan Mason, Roberto Soldado and Harry Kane saw us overturn a 1-0 second half deficit to win 3-1 against Stuart Pearce’s side.

And Benji, who played 65 minutes of the midweek contest, says the manner in which we eventually won the game gives us something to build on as we travel across North London at the weekend.

“It was a good win for us on Wednesday because we have a big game to play and we have to show that we can beat Arsenal,” said the Frenchman, who made his Premier League debut off the bench in our 2-2 draw at Sunderland earlier this month.

“It will be difficult, but we have the qualities we need. We showed on Wednesday night that we have a good mentality and that we will never give up.

“Even when we were losing 1-0 we scored three goals so it shows what we can do. We have to concentrate right to the end of the game.”
