Ben's pride at QPR win

Mon 09 March 2015, 16:10|Tottenham Hotspur

Ben Davies admitted the win at QPR ‘meant a little more’ after facing a real scrap for the three points at Loftus Road.

Harry Kane opened the scoring in the first half and his second for 2-0 during our best spell after the break put us in the driving seat.

But QPR weren’t finished as Sandro slotted home for 2-1 with 15 minutes remaining and we had to be on our mettle to see the game out.

We did just that to secure back-to-back wins in the Premier League against Swansea and QPR just days after Europa League elimination and our Wembley woes in the Capital One Cup Final.

“We really had to fight for it,” reflected Ben after making his first start the Premier League since our goalless draw against United on December 28.

“Once we scored, we had a great spell but we always had to be cautious of what they could throw at us, try to be sensible and not play silly football in silly areas.

“Maybe it wasn’t the prettiest and we had to play the percentages at times but QPR put us under pressure and we had to focus.

“We put our bodies on the line, stood up to be counted and deserved the three points. As a team, we can be proud of that win.”
