Australian Sun-Herald apologises

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Following last Sunday’s article in which our Director of Football and Caretaker Manager David Pleat was inaccurately quoted, the Sun-Herald newspaper in Sydney, Australia, has published an apology in this week’s edition of its paper.

The apology appears in the same column in which the original item appeared and reads:
'Last week we attributed to Tottenham Hotspur Football Club boss David Pleat a disparaging remark about the performance of former manager Glenn Hoddle. This was a production error. Mr Pleat did not say the words attributed to him. The error is regretted and we apologise to both men for any embarrassment caused'.

The Club has accepted this apology on behalf of David Pleat.
