Ash Tan was determined to watch his beloved Spurs at Wembley - even though he's over 6,500 miles away!
A One Hotspur and Singapore Spurs Supporters Club member, Ash completed a 13,000-mile round trip in the space of four days to get to the Capital One Cup Final.
Ash hatched his Wembley plan after we overcame Sheffield United in the semi-finals but didn't get confirmation of a ticket until the Wednesday before the final on Sunday, March 1.
That led to a quick dash to secure flights and he took off from Singapore at 9.20pm on the Friday (February 27), landed at Heathrow at 6.40am Saturday morning, watched the final on Sunday, left Heathrow at 10pm on Monday night and arrived back home in Singapore at 8.30pm local time on Tuesday - talk about a whirlwind trip!
For Ash though, it was well worth it. "I spent 60 hours in London and 32 hours on flights!" he said.
"The moment the final whistle blew at Bramall Lane, I knew I had to be at Wembley. I was also there in 2008 when we won the League Cup against the same opponents and I fancied myself to be our lucky charm!
"The walk down Wembley Way was spine-tingling with anticipation and what really blew me away was our fans singing relentlessly after the final whistle.
"That is a reason why we support Spurs through thick and thin. I was disappointed with the result of course, but not devastated because we really put in a shift."
Singapore Spurs SC first got together in 1999 and were recognised as an official supporters club in 2002. Members gather at the London Gastrobar at Boat Quay.
