Andros Townsend reiterated his belief that there are no easy games in the Premier League as we prepare for today’s visit to Norwich City.
The Canaries are hovering just above the drop zone heading into this afternoon’s action and three points will be a clear priority for them as they bid to secure their Premier League position.
But winger Andros stressed our players are not interested in the needs of any of our rivals – and said the lads are just focussed on picking up points to aid our quest for a top four finish.
“I don’t think it matters who you play in the Premier League, it’s always going to be a difficult game,” said the 22-year-old.
“As always we’ll prepare the same way and look to do a professional job.
“The manager has got us playing really well, we’re picking up results and that’s all we can do.
“We’ve just got to focus on winning, getting three points and not worry too much about what the other teams are doing.”
Today sees a reunion for Andros with Norwich manager Chris Hughton, the latter having taken the winger to Birmingham City on loan during his time in charge of the Blues back in 2012.
And while Andros admits former Spurs man Hughton might have the inside track on certain aspects of his game, he says his spell at Birmingham undoubtedly aided his development.
“Chris took me down to Birmingham for the last three months of the 2011-12 season and we got to the play-off semi-final, which was good,” he recalled.
“I enjoyed my time there, and Chris knows the way I play. It was a good spell for me.”
