Ade previews Celtic friendly

Emmanuel Adebayor believes it’s an ideal time to play Celtic with the start of the Premier League season drawing ever nearer.

We are in Helsinki to face the Scottish champions in what will be our fourth pre-season friendly, following on from our three matches in the United States and Canada last month.

Experienced striker Ade, who is back in the squad after recovering from a mild bout of malaria, insists the test we’re sure to face against Celtic is a useful one as we move towards our opening day trip to West Ham in a fortnight’s time.

“It’s an important game,” said Ade, speaking at Helsinki’s Olympic Stadium. “We’re all here getting ready for the season. Celtic are a good club, they have done well in Scotland and they’re competing in the Champions League.

“Physically they will be ready, mentally they will be ready and tactically they will be ready, so we just have to show how good we are and keep focused and keep the momentum going.”
