The Club and BT Sport have collaborated to capture an historic moment in our stadium development project and a first in video content - the lift of our stadium roof from ground level to its final position in stunning 360 degrees.
Shot from the centre circle of our new home, this time lapse charts a significant period in the construction of the stadium, offering supporters a never before seen view from all angles of the roof being lifted into place at pitch level from start to finish.
This unique piece of video is available to view now through YouTube 360 and Facebook 360 (open in Facebook app for best results).
A force of 20,000 tonnes was required to lift the roof into place when the process commenced last month. The structure is formed by a cable net which is supported by 54 flying columns between the upper and lower tension rings. A total of 287 individual glass roof sections and 810 roof cassettes will now be fitted along with 324 LED sports lights, which form the floodlighting for the stadium and have been supplied by Musco, our Official Stadium Field of Play Lighting Supplier.
