Stats spotlight - Dele at Stoke

Wed 20 April 2016, 13:10|Tottenham Hotspur

Dele Alli certainly passed the character test at Stoke.

The midfielder capped week to remember with his ninth and 10th goals of an incredible first season in the Premier League as we ran out impressive 4-0 winners at the Britannia Stadium.

Dele has also weighed in with nine assists this term and has now been involved in 18 goals in his last 23 league appearances – all in a week where he’d opened the scoring against United, turned 20 and been nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Season.

Most importantly though, Dele picked himself up off the turf after missing a golden chance for 3-0 to volley home goal number four.

“He did everything right apart from sticking the ball away!” said Harry Kane in almost disbelief. “But to be fair, he got up and scored a terrific volley for his second goal. He’s a top player with a great mental attitude.”

It was quite a night for Dele, whose movement and runs from deep proved a thorn in Stoke’s side all evening as he racked eight efforts at goal and a 92.6% completion rate from 27 passes.

Here are Dele’s basic stats against Stoke
