1    FRIDAY

2004    Jacques Santini takes over as Spurs manager.

2011    Goalkeeper Brad Friedel signs from Aston Villa.

2    SATURDAY

Danny Rose’s (pictured, above) 26th birthday.

1994    Our 12 point deduction is halved by an FA tribunal but our fine is more than doubled and we remain banned from the FA Cup. We announce a further appeal.

1995    Our players return from Rudar Velenje after a 2-1 win – our only triumph in the InterToto Cup.

3    SUNDAY

1959    Graham Roberts born in Southampton. Happy birthday, Robbo!

2012    Andre Villas-Boas appointed as our Head Coach.

4    MONDAY

1966    John Scales (pictured, below) born in Harrogate. The England international would join us from Liverpool in 1996.

2012    Gylfi Sigurdsson signs from 1899 Hoffenheim.

1982    Ossie Ardiles agrees move to Paris St Germain on loan.

2007    Younes Kaboul moves from Auxerre to Spurs.

6    WEDNESDAY

1993    New manager Ossie Ardiles adds Steve Perryman and Pat Jennings to his coaching staff.

2013    Brazilian international Paulinho signs from Corinthians.

7    THURSDAY

1963    Our former amateur centre-half Allan Leach-Lewis dies. He made his Spurs debut in April, 1904.

2007    We win 3-1 at Stevenage Borough where Robbie Keane (penalty), Darren Bent and Adel Taarabt all score.

8    FRIDAY

1980    Robbie Keane (pictured, below) born in Dublin. Happy birthday Keano!

1990    Jurgen Klinsmann collects a World Cup winners’ medal after Germany beat Argentina in Rome thanks to a late Andreas Brehme penalty.

9    SATURDAY

2004    Pedro Mendes signs from Porto.

2005    Aaron Lennon plays his first Spurs game in our 3-0 win at Stevenage. Teemu Tainio, Tom Huddlestone and Wayne Routledge also make their debuts.

10    SUNDAY

1867    George Leach born in Malta and would join us from Brighton and Hove Albion in April, 1905. He also played regular county cricket for Sussex.

1978    Argentina World Cup winners Ossie Ardiles and Ricky Villa sign from Huracan and Racing Club respectively.

11    MONDAY

2002    Teenage midfielder Jonathan Blondel arrives at the Lane after signing from Mouscron Excelsior.

2008    Jake Livermore joins Crewe on loan but is soon back at the Lane after suffering a fractured fibula in a pre-season friendly.

12    TUESDAY

1956    Tony Galvin born in Huddersfield and would join us from Goole Town in January, 1978. Happy birthday, Tony!

2011    Young Spanish forward Cristian Ceballos signs for the club.

13    WEDNESDAY

1944    Cyril Knowles (pictured, below) born in Fitzwilliam. Sadly he would die in Middlesbrough in August, 1991, at the age of 46.

2001    Steffen Freund scores for Spurs at Stevenage where we win 8-1. Gus Poyet hits three.

14    THURSDAY

1976    Keith Burkinshaw appointed manager following Terry Neill’s departure.

1984    Future Moroccan international Mounir El Hamdaoui born in Rotterdam and would move to Spurs from Excelsior in January, 2005.

15    FRIDAY

2004    Sean Davis makes his debut in our 2-2 draw with FC Copenhagen in Gothenburg. Dean Richards and Jermain Defoe score.

2009    We return from Exeter City with a 3-0 pre-season friendly win. Jamie O’Hara, Aaron Lennon and Darren Bent all score.

16    SATURDAY

Mousa Dembele’s 29th birthday.

1993    We win 4-2 at Shelbourne. Teddy Sheringham is among our goalscorers in Dublin.

2003    A 2-2 draw with Boca Juniors on our way to lifting the Peace Cup in South Korea. Jermain Defoe and Mido net.

17    SUNDAY

1924    Centre-forward Len Duquemin born in Cobo, Guernsey. The man nicknamed the Duke would start with us as an amateur following a trial in December, 1945, but would be a professional within a month.

2004    Pedro Mendes (pictured, below) plays his first Spurs game at Trollhattan on our tour to Sweden. We lose by the only goal.

18    MONDAY

1993    A 3-1 friendly win at Drogheda United where Teddy Sheringham scores twice.

2005    Robbie Keane grabs a double as we beat Sundowns 3-1 in the Peace Cup.

19    TUESDAY

2000    On tour in Sweden, we beat AIK Skelleftea 4-0 where Steffen Iversen bags a brace.

2001    We return from Orient with a 2-0 win. Simon Davies and Sergei Rebrov score in Steve Castle’s testimonial match.

20    WEDNESDAY

1908    Fred Kirkham resigns as Spurs manager. The club’s Board opts not to replace him but to take on the role themselves.

2003    Bobby Zamora scores twice on his Spurs debut as we win 3-0 at Oxford United. Robbie Keane is also on target.

21    THURSDAY

1964    Much sadness at the club and throughout the football world in general as the great John White dies when he is struck by lightning at Crews Hill golf course, near our current Training Centre in Enfield.

2001    Teddy Sheringham scores his first goal on his return to Spurs as we win 2-1 at Wycombe Wanderers. Christian Ziege makes his debut.

22    FRIDAY

1994    David Howells is on target in a testimonial for ex-Spur Richard ‘Charlie’ Cooke (pictured, below, in action against Arsenal in 1983) at Bournemouth where we win 5-0.

2010    We beat New York Red Bulls 2-1 in the New York Challenge Tournament at the Home Depot Stadium. Robbie Keane and Gareth Bale are on target.

23    SATURDAY

1975    On tour of Germany and Holland, we draw 1-1 with Rot-Weiss Essen. Neil McNab scores.

2002    We play at Colchester United in a testimonial for Richard Wilkins. Gary Doherty, Oyvind Leonhardsen and Lee Barnard score in our 3-1 triumph.

24    SUNDAY

1968    Scottish international Dave Mackay leaves us for Derby County.

2004    A 2-2 draw at Hull City where goalkeeper Paul Robinson plays his first Spurs game. Jermain Defoe bags both our goals.

25    MONDAY

2007    A 17-year-old Danny Rose signs for us from Leeds United.

2008    England goalkeeper Paul Robinson leaves Spurs for Blackburn Rovers.

26    TUESDAY

JUVENTUS v SPURS, International Champions Cup, at Melbourne Cricket Ground, 8pm local time (9am UK).

1994    A 3-0 win at Cambridge United with Ronny Rosenthal among our goalscorers.

2009    We lose 2-0 to Celtic at Wembley in the Wembley Cup.

27    WEDNESDAY

1984    Argentine international trialist Mario Kempes records a hat-trick as we beat IL Stjordals Blink 9-0 on tour in Norway.

2009    Peter Crouch (pictured, below) returns to Tottenham from Portsmouth.

28    THURSDAY

Harry Kane’s 23nd birthday.

2007    We lift the Vodacom Challenge Trophy following a 3-0 win over Orlando Pirates in Pretoria to become the first club to take the trophy out of Africa.

2008    Four goals for Darren Bent in a 5-1 friendly win at Norwich City.

29    FRIDAY

SPURS v ATLETICO MADRID, International Champions Cup, at Melbourne Cricket Ground, 8pm local time (9am UK).

1994    Jurgen Klinsmann signs from Monaco.

2009    We beat West Ham United in Beijing in the Premier League Asia Trophy. Jermain Defoe hits the winner against his former club.

30    SATURDAY

1964    Jurgen Klinsmann born in Goppingen. Happy birthday, Jurgen!

2008    Winger David Bentley signs from Blackburn Rovers.

31    SUNDAY

2002    Chinese trialist Qu Bo makes his Spurs debut in a 4-0 testimonial win at Crystal Palace.

2009    Two goals from Robbie Keane – one from the penalty spot – as we win the Asia Trophy with a 3-0 win over Hull City in Beijing. Aaron Lennon also nets.
